Installation Issues If you are having trouble with the installation procedures that are
provided on the DVD, refer to the chart below for possible solutions.
Problem Possible Solution
When trying to connect my computer
and scanner, the screen always says
“Searching...”
Make sure that:
your computer supports wireless, and the wireless network card/
adaptor is turned on (make sure your computer is not in Airplane
Mode).
any antennas are installed and extended/positioned as needed.
your scanner is turned on, and that it is showing the Wireless Directly
icon: . If you do not see this icon, check that the Wireless switch
on the back of the scanner is in the correct position. Be careful to not
break the switch.
your scanner is within 6 feet of your computer.
If this information is not helpful, refer to the “Additional Help” section.
When trying to connect my computer
and scanner, I do not see my scanner’s
“SSID” in the selection list.
Make sure that your scanner is turned on, and that it is showing the
Wireless Directly icon: . If you do not see this icon, check that the
Wireless switch on the back of the scanner is in the correct position. Be
careful to not break the switch.
Make sure your scanner is within 6 feet of your computer.
Press the “i” button on your scanner, and verify that the “SSID” that it is
displayed is the one that you are looking for.
Give your computer time to discover your scanner. In very noisy
environments this may take a couple of minutes. The list will
automatically update when your scanner is discovered.
