AJobnameisauniqueidentifierforeachprintjob.Ithelpsyoufindandprint
yourjobfromtheprintingsystem’soperationpanel.Whenyousendaprintjob
usingoneoftheJobstorage(e-MPS)options,youcanassignacustomname
tothejoborusethenameoftheapplicationfile.
ForMicrosoftWordandPowerPoint,youcanchoosetoincludeoromitthe
applicationnamefromtheapplicationdefinedJobname.Youcanalsoensure
thatjobsinprintingsystemmemoryarenotreplacedbynewjobshavingthe
sameJobname.
Don’tuseapplicationnameisanoptiontoremovetheapplicationnamefrom
thejobnameintheoperationpanelmessageandinjobstoragefeatures.By
selectingDon'tuseapplicationname,thefilenameyouchooseappears
clearlyinthejoblist.ThisfeatureisapplicableonlywhenprintingfromMicrosoft
WordorPowerPoint.
Overwritejobnameisanoptiontoensurethatasavedprintjobisnotreplaced
inprintingsystemmemorybyanewjobhavingthesameJobname.Ifauser
sendstwoprintjobswiththesameUsernameandJobname,thesecondjob
replacesthefirstjobwithoutanyprompt.Topreventthis,Overwritejobname
canautomaticallychangetheJobnamebyaddingthedateandtimethejobis
sent.Thisfeaturealsohelpsyoutotrackwhenprintjobsweresentfromthe
computer.
TheselectedoptionappliestoaJobnamewitheitherApplicationdefinedor
Customselected.Overwritejobnameoptionsinclude:
Replaceexistingfile
Thisoptionletsthecurrentprintjobreplaceanexistingjobinprintingsystem
memory,ifajobwiththesameUsernameandJobnameexists.
Usejobname+dateandtime
ThisoptionaddsthecurrentdateandtimetotheendoftheJobname,inthe
format:mmddyyhhmmss.
YoumustselectaJobnametousewithJobstorage(e-MPS)features,sothat
youcanfindyourjobinthejoblistdisplayedontheprintingsystem’soperation
panel.TheselectedJobnameissavedwiththeprintjobwhenthejobissentto
printingsystemmemory.
