TheSecurityWatermarkisaplug-infeaturethatprintsanearlyinvisibleimage
ortextagainstabackgroundpattern.Thesecuritywatermarkappearsonly
whentheprintedpageisphotocopied.Thishelpstoidentifyprintedpagesthat
shouldnotbephotocopied,ortodistinguishbetweenoriginalprintsand
photocopies.Sixstandardsecuritywatermarksareavailableastextorimage,
andyoucancreatecustomsecuritywatermarktext.
AnotablefeatureofSecurityWatermarkistheDocumentguardpattern,
whichpreventsthedocumentfrombeingphotocopied,scanned,faxed,or
printedfrommemory.Ifascan,fax,orprintfrommemoryisattempted,the
processisstoppedandanerrormessageappearsontheprinter'soperation
panel.
TheOptionalComponentsWizardontheProductLibraryCDoffersthe
opportunitytoinstalltheSecurityWatermarkplug-infollowinginstallationof
theprinterdriver.
SecurityWatermarkappearsintheAdvancedtabafterselectingDevice
Settings>PDL>SelectPDL>PCLXL.
Theadministratorcanensurethatasecuritywatermarkisprintedonalljobsby
selectingDeviceSettings>Administrator>LockSecuritySettings.
SelectingSecurityWatermarksetsthesedriverfeaturestothefollowing
values:
•WatermarkintheAdvancedtabissettoOff.
•ResolutionintheImagingtabissetto600dpi.
•KIRintheImagingtabissettoOff.
•EcoPrintinImaging>QualityissettoOff.
•AdjustmentSettings(BrightnessandContrastissetto0)inImaging>
Grayscale>Custom.
Thereverseisalsotrue.Ifthesefeaturesarechanged,thentheSecurity
WatermarkselectionissettoNone,andcannotbeused.
Youcancreateanewsecuritywatermarkthatdisplaystextbutnotanimage.
Anysecuritywatermarkcanbeedited,thoughalimitednumberofoptionscan
bechangedfordefaultsecuritywatermarks.
