Additional Components
The following components are needed to work with the Echo Liquid Handler:
l Client PC (customer’s computer) running the Echo Liquid Handler software to monitor and control the Echo Liquid Handler.
The PC should have an Intel® Core 2 Duo processor or equivalent with Microsoft Windows 7 32 bit, 64 bit; 1GB of RAM,
minimum; 1 GB of available disk storage; video resolution of 1280 x 1024; and a 10/100/1000 baseT Ethernet port.
Note: If you are integrating the Echo Liquid Handler into an automated HTS (High Throughput Screening) system
and need to install the Client + Server software onto a workstation, it must contain an Intel Core 2 Duo processor
or better.
Note: A Client PCcan be purchased directly from Labcyte (Part #ECHO-Client Computer).For information on the
Client PCavailable from Labcyte, see the Client PC (sold by Labcyte) topic. For more information on minimum
requirements for the Client PC, see the Client PC (minimum requirements) topic.
Note: To run Microsoft® Windows 10 on the Client PC, see the Echo Liquid Handler Software Installation
Procedure for Microsoft® Windows 10 64-bit OS topic. The Microsoft® Windows 10 option is ONLYavailable on
standalone Echo Liquid Handlers and not on the Access Laboratory Workstation.
l Network IP address: A static IP address must be allocated for the Echo Liquid Handler. If you cannot use the pre-configured
IP address (192.168.0.25) on your network, or if you are installing more than one Echo Liquid Handler, use the Echo Admin
Client (included on the Echo Server 2.6 disk) to change the IP address on the client PC.
l Standalone Echo Liquid Handler IP address: 192.168.0.25
l Echo Liquid Handler connected to Access or POD IP address: 192.168.0.25
l Mounting surface (minimum):The Echo Liquid Handler can emit vibration while in operation and is susceptible to vibration
from other devices. For this reason, the Echo system should be placed on a sturdy surface that is isolated from surrounding
equipment or designed to suppress the transmission of vibration from devices. The surface must be sturdy, level, and
water-resistant with cross-bracing or welded joints. The surface must be capable of supporting a minimum of 128 kg (283
lbs) weight with sufficient surface area to accommodate the Echo Liquid Handler in the recommended operating envelope.
If the mounting surface is a table top, the table legs should not rest on casters. If the table has casters, they should be
locked.
