Instrument Relocation
There are two ways to move the Echo Liquid Handler and they are explained in the topics below:

l Reinstall the Echo Liquid Handler after a move
Note: If you do not plan to set up the Echo Liquid Handler within two weeks, refer to Extended Non-Use and Storage.
Prepare the Echo Liquid Handler for a move
Use the following procedure if the Echo Liquid Handler must be moved:
1. Determine if the move must involve Labcyte.
l If the move requires transportation (truck, air, train) call Labcyte Service and Support. Do not attempt to move the
Echo Liquid Handler yourself.
l If the move can be easily accomplished using a moving dolly or cart that can support a minimum of 128 kg (283 lbs)
weight, the move can be performed without Labcyte involvement. If you have any questions, contact Labcyte
Service and Support. For more information, see Contact Information.
2. Finish any operation in progress.
3. Remove microplates and microplate inserts from the Echo Liquid Handler.
4. Turn off the Echo Liquid Handler and the fluid chiller. For more information, see Turn Off Echo Power and Chiller Setup.
5. After the Echo Liquid Handler has been powered down, disconnect the following lines from the back panel.
l Chiller input and output tubing
l Compressed air supply line
l Vacuum supply line
l Ethernet cable
l AC power cable
l Coupling fluid bottle, caddy, and cable
l Remote Emergency Motion Off (EMO) connector (if connected)
6. Use proper safety procedures to lift the Echo Liquid Handler gently onto a moving dolly or cart of sufficient size and
strength to support the unit.
Warning: The Echo Liquid Handler weighs approximately 128 kg (283 lbs.). Moving or lifting the Echo Liquid Handler
incorrectly can cause severe injury. Never attempt to move or lift the Echo Liquid Handler without using proper equipment
and trained personnel.
7. Move the Echo Liquid Handler and ancillary equipment and material (bottles, tubing, microplates, source plate inserts, etc.)
to the new location, which should already be prepared and comply with all pre-installation requirements. For more
information, see Pre-Installation Requirements.
