6. Take the lens holder retainer nut to a
clean area and invert it to remove the
lens.
Note the location of the seal ring.
For steps 5 and 6, see Figure 40.
7. Using care, clean the lens according
to Section 5.2 or install a new lens
into the lens holder retainer nut.
See Appendix D - Configurations
for available lens part numbers.
8. Inspect the seal ring (PLLSR0002)
and replace it if necessary.
9. Place the seal ring on top of the lens.

For step 8 to 10, see Figure 39.
10. Place the lens holder retainer nut
onto the lens insertion tool and
rethread it into the head.
Hand-tighten the adjustable
lens holder until it is snug. Be
careful not to over tighten the
adjustable lens holder as this
may cause the lens to distort.
11. Verify that all of the o-rings (3 each in
the adjustable lens holder spacer,
lens manifold block, and lens
manifold block spacer) are
undamaged and inserted in the top of
each component.
Replace the o-rings as
necessary.
12. Align the adjustable lens holder
spacer and tighten the (4) captive M4
SHCS, if necessary.
13. Align the lens manifold block and
tighten the (4) captive M4 SHCS, if
necessary.
14. Align the lens manifold block spacer
and tighten the (4) M3 SHCS, if
necessary.
15. Replace the tip retainer assembly
according to Section 5.4.
16. Center the beam in the tip orifice
according to Section 4.1 or Section
4.2.
5.6 Removing and Replacing the
Collimator
Before continuing, determine which
style collimator your head has.
o See the provided assembly
drawing.
o If the fiber is clamped to the
head, similar to Figure 7, you
have a third-party collimator.
o Other variations use a Laser
Mechanisms’ collimator.
This manual only covers servicing
when using a Laser Mechanisms’
collimator.
Refer to third-party collimator’s
instructions to service that type of
system.
Before opening any part of the head,
clean off the dust and/or process
debris using an exterior cleaning
towel (PLTLS0023) or equivalent.
