3.3.2 Mounting position
If the target wheel is not arranged symmetrically to the measuring surface, measuring
errors may occur. To ensure the correct function of the MiniCODER, it must be
exactly adjusted.
Align the MiniCODER symmetrically in relation to the measuring scale, the lines of
symmetry must match (→ page 50). Keep to the limits stated.
Possible mounting errors
Effect of the mounting position on the signal quality:
Air gap
Amplitude tracks 1 and 2
Horizontal angular offset
Offset tracks 1 and 2
Horizontal angular offset
Amplitude ratio track 1/2 in relation to reference
track
Vertical angular offset
Zero position track 1/2 in relation to reference track
Lenord+Bauer markets the special testing and programming unit
GEL 211CS0. Using this unit, the signals from the MiniCODER can be mea-
sured and the configurable MiniCODER (GEL 2444K
P ) adjusted,
analysed and configured.
