3.3.5 Usage of programming feature (GEL 2444K P )
MiniCODERs are optimised and calibrated by Lenord+Bauer for high mounting preci-
sion with a fixed target wheel diameter (approx. 77 mm). They are supplied calibrated
and 100% function checked. In many applications, variations are unavoidable during
the production of the drives due to the mounting of the MiniCODER and the nature
of the target wheel. These minor variations can be reduced with the aid of the
GEL211CS0. This adjustment is no substitute for correct mounting. Extreme mechan-
ical mounting variations must be avoided. The mechanical changes that will occur in
use are to be taken into account to prevent the drive amplifier signalling that limits
have been exceeded. The limits may vary depending on the drive amplifier used.
Programming of the signals after the installation of the MiniCODER in the spindle
should only be undertaken if it is ensured the MiniCODER has been carefully in-
stalled: Air gap correct, no tilting or twisting (→ page 50).
Should a check at Lenord+Bauer be requested on a MiniCODER that is
not operating as expected, the check here can only be made with factory
settings.
