Windows8.1(64-bit)operatingsystemandonotheroperatingsystems.
Note:Youcandownloadaself-startingbootablediscimage(knownasanISOimage)withthesystem

Toupdate(ash)theBIOSfromadiscontheWindows8(64-bit)orWindows8.1(64-bit)operatingsystem,
dothefollowing:
1.StarttheSetupUtilityprogram.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage55.
2.FromtheSetupUtilityprogrammainmenu,selectExit➙OSOptimizedDefault➙Disabled.
3.SelectYesinthewindowdisplayedandpressEntertoconrmyourselection.
4.PressF10tosavechangesandexittheSetupUtilityprogram.See“ExitingtheSetupUtilityprogram”
onpage58.
5.RepeatedlypressandreleaseF12whenturningonthecomputer.WhentheStartupDeviceMenu
windowopens,releaseF12.
6.FromtheStartupDeviceMenuwindow,selectthedesiredopticaldriveasthestartupdevice.Then,
insertthediscintothisopticaldriveandpressEnter.Theupdatebegins.
7.Whenpromptedtochangetheserialnumber,itissuggestedthatyoudonotmakethischangeby
pressingN.However,ifyoudowanttochangetheserialnumber,pressY,andthentypeintheserial
numberandpressEnter.
8.Whenpromptedtochangethemachinetypeandmodel,itissuggestedthatyoudonotmakethis
changebypressingN.However,ifyoudowanttochangethemachinetypeandmodel,pressY,and
thentypeinthemachinetypeandmodelandpressEnter.
9.Followtheinstructionsonthescreentocompletetheupdate.Aftertheupdateiscompleted,removethe
discfromtheopticaldrive.
