For this purpose:
the active/reference input (pin 2) must be connected to the inactive state (default: 0V)
or it must be open.
the active/reference input (pin 2) must be configured as an activation and referencing
input:
Input Menu -> Input activ/ref -> input activ/ref Activation + Ref
Synchronous measurement value query 5 digits, resolution 1mm:
Synchronous measurement value query 6 digits, resolution 0.1mm:

To make the laser beam visible for adjustment purposes and to view measurement values
on the display, the
active/reference input (pin 2) can be connected to the active state (default: 24V) or
the sensor can be activated with the command "A" (see page 26) or
the active/reference input (pin 2) can be temporarily configured via the menu as a ref-
erence input:
Input Menu -> Input activ/ref -> Input activ/ref Referencing
Possible errors and their causes
Instead of a synchronous measurement, an asynchronous measurement is performed.
Possible causes of the error: the synchronous measurement command was set by the acti-
vated, i.e. the measuring, sensor. Instead of the synchronous measurement, an asynchro-
nous measurement was performed (corresponds to the commands "M" and "m").
