Press “Y” to store the configuration.
If required, enter the password for the system. The default password is “loop.”
When configuration is stored, press ESC, then ESC again to return to the main menu.
Note: To save set-up time by customer, the map for a normal channel bank can be set up by as factory
default prior to shipping, or downloaded from a PC. See sales representative for this service.
Monitor a Voice Channel
So far, the monitor function has not been mapped. To complete the monitor function, determine which voice
channel is to be monitored. Then, the voice signal from the local port is assigned to the third channel of
PORT K, and the voice signal from the far end of the same voice connection is assigned to the fourth
channel of PORT K.
For example, to set up monitoring of the second channel of PORT C, assign the third channel of PORT K to
v C 02, and assign the fourth channel of PORT K to v A 06. The first page of the map will now look like this.

Note that v C 02 now appears both in time slot 6 of PORT A and in time slot 3 of PORT K, and that v A 06
appears both in time slot 2 of PORT C and in time slot 3 of PORT K. This is allowed when the “multicast”
feature is enabled.
Press ESC and save the configuration. The monitor function is now activated. If this configuration is not
STORED, the monitor function will disappear on next power up. If not STORED, the monitor function can be
removed by the RETRIEVE command, command R of the main menu.
To monitor a different channel, if the monitor configuration is not STORED, do the RETRIEVE command,
then repeat the above procedure. If the monitor configuration is STORED, then manually restore to the
normal channel bank configuration, followed by the above procedure.
