REPLACE Wheels
IMPORTANT
In the event of a wheel being changed on the public highway, secure the lift truck vicinity:
- Park the lift truck, if possible on firm, level ground.
- Stop the lift truck (
1-OPERATING AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS: DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS UNLADEN AND LADEN).
- Switch on the hazard warning lights (Option).
- Immobilise the lift truck in both directions on the axle opposite to the wheel to be changed.
- Unlock the nuts of the wheel to be changed.
REAR WHEEL
For this operation, we advise you to use the hydraulic jack (MANITOU Part no.:505507).
- Place the jack under the counterweight. It must be situated in the middle and under
the flat part of the counterweight.
- Lift the wheel until it comes off the ground and put in place the safety block under
the axle.
- Completely unscrew the wheel nuts and remove them.
- Free the wheel by reciprocating movements and roll it to the side.
- Slip the new wheel on the wheel hub.
- Hand-tighten the nuts, grease them if necessary.
- Remove the security block and lower the lift truck with the jack.
- Tighten the wheel nuts with a torque wrench ( 2000H-PERIODIC
SERVICE-EVERY2,000 HOURS OF SERVICE OR EVERY4 YEARS) for the tightening
torque.
FRONT WHEEL
- Lift the carriage and tilt the mast backwards.
- Immobilise under the foot of the mast on the side where the wheel is being changed.
- Tilt the mast forwards to lift the wheel.
- Place wedges under the chassis as near as possible to the wheel.
- Completely unscrew the wheel nuts and remove them.
- Free the wheel by reciprocating movements and roll it to the side.
- Slip the new wheel on the wheel hub.
- Hand-tighten the nuts, grease them if necessary.
- Remove the wedges under the axle and lower the lift truck.
- Tighten the wheel nuts with a torque wrench ( 2000H-PERIODIC
SERVICE-EVERY2,000 HOURS OF SERVICE OR EVERY4 YEARS) for the tightening
torque.
