Adjustment Procedures Necessary For Transfer Case Assembly
– drive gear shaft axial play and preload (adjustment shim)
– ring gear shaft axial play and preload (left and right adjustment shims)
– drive pinion height and preload (spacer)
– drive pinion backlash (sliding the ring gear in shaft direction by varying the
thicknesses of the left and right adjustment shims while maintaining total thickness of
both)
– drive pinion and ring gear tooth contact (drive pinion height and backlash by spacers)
