5.6.3 Centre Axle Lift Ram Replacement

5.6.3.1 Clear the area of all personnel before lowering
the wings; see Figure 5.64.
5.6.3.2 From the tractor seat with your belt fastened,
lower the machine wings to the ground
following the guidance given in Section 4.2.
WARNING! When operating a fully
assembled machine, do not release the
Wing Locking Pin and/or ratchet securing
strap until the hoses are attached to the
tractor and each of the wing lift ram cylinders
are filled with oil. Always ensure that
bystanders are kept well away from the
falling area of the wings.

5.6.3.3 Shut off the tractor, engage the parking brake,
place the tractor transmission into the parked
position and remove the key before
dismounting the tractor.
5.6.3.4 Fully support the centre and wing decks of the
machine with fixed stands or substantial
blocks; see Figure 5.65.
5.6.3.5 Release all oil pressure from the circuit by
using the tractors hydraulic control
levers/buttons back/forth in/out e.t.c.
5.6.3.6 Remove the input PTO shaft between the
machine and tractor. Guidance to using the
PTO shaft is given in Section 4.5.1.
5.6.3.7 Put on suitable safety glasses and
impenetrable gloves and proceed to remove
the hydraulic hoses from the tractors quick
connect points following the guidance given in
Section 4.3.
