5.4 Slip Clutch
To prevent gearbox damage all rotors are protected by slip clutches fitted to each of the drive shafts. FV friction
slip clutches are found on the SR460/620/820 machine range, equipped with special Belleville springs designed
to apply pressure that varies with the amount of compression.
In use, the compression of the spring has to be adjusted periodically to compensate for lining wear and to
maintain the correct clutch setting. Clutch settings are stated in Section 5.4.3 for each of the respective
machines.

Breakdown Of Components
Depending on the model purchased there will be 180mm and/or 202mm clutches with either 2 and/or 4 friction
linings. All versions have metal surfaces that are specially treated to help prevent sticking and corrosion of the
friction linings.
Figure 5.36 and Figure 5.37 give a full breakdown of the slip clutches and where each type can be found on a
machine.
