The following section refers to the disassembly operations of a slip clutch. This procedure can be carried out in
the same fashion for either of the slip clutches shown earlier in the section.
5.4.1.1 Remove the taper pin
5.4.1.2 Unscrew progressively the 8 bolts in order to
reduce the pressure uniformly on the discs
and linings

5.4.1.3 Remove the springs, discs and linings from
the slip clutch
5.4.1.4 Verify the efficiency of all the parts of the slip
clutch. Replace worn or damaged
components with genuine McConnel parts
NOTE: Clutch linings ‘as new’ thickness is 3.2mm.
Replace the clutch linings when the thickness is
reduced to 2.5mm.
Clean all metallic surfaces, especially those in contact
with the clutch linings.
