5.8 Socket outlet test
The Socket outlet test is an alternative test method for performing Polarity / Correct
connections and PE conductor test on sockets as specified in the AS / NZS 3017.
A sequence of four tests is carried out automatically:
Resistance between L and N terminal
Resistance between L and PE terminal
Resistance between N and PE terminal
Resistance of PE conductor
The test can be carried out directly from the socket outlet without using the trailing lead.
All three test leads must be connected during the test. Usually the circuit is terminated
with the Resistance box (A 1195) at the switchboard side.
