6.4 Trouble shooting table
Failure Cause Solution
Machine doesn’t
start.
• Emergency stop push
button has been pressed.
• No power supply.
• Machine too low.
The carrier pins of the main
shaft are not positioned in
the holes of the driving
wheel.
• Resolve the emergency situa-
tion and reset the emergency
stop.
• Insert plug socket.
• Raise the machine.
Machine doesn’t cut. • Vent knives are blunt or
broken.
• Height of the bottom cam
is sagged.
• Height adjustment of the
machine is incorrect.
• Sharp the blunt knives and re-
place the broken vent-knives.
• Adjust the height of the lift-up
drum correctly.
• Adjust the height of the ma-
chine correctly.
Missing a bird. • Input not correct. bird is
positioned between the
units instead of in the unit.
• Positioning in the unit is
not correct, vent is not po-
sitioned under the drill.
• Machine too low.
• Timing shackle with regard to
the unit not correct.
• Put the back plate in the proper
position (vent of the bird exactly
below the vent knife)
• Raise the machine.
Breaking the intes-
tine.
• Vent-knives are blunt. • Sharpen or replace
the vent-knives.
Damage to the intes-
tines.
• The vent-knife cuts too
deep.
• Probes not adjusted right.
• Lower the position of the bird.
• Adjust probes.
Back or kidneys
damaged.
• Birds are not correctly po-
sitioned.
• Put the machine into the cor-
rect position.
