Providedthefrontseatoccupantsarecorrectlyseated
andwithseatbeltsproperlyworn,theairbagswillprovide
additionalprotectiontothechestandfacialareasin
theeventofthecarreceivingaseverefrontalimpact.
Sideairbagsandsideheadimpactprotectionairbagsare
designedtoofferadditionalprotectiontothesideofthe
bodyfacingtheimpact,ifaseveresidecollisionoccurs.
IMPORTANT
•Evenifthevehicleisequippedwithairbags,you
shouldalwayswearseatbeltstoreducetheriskof
severecasualtyintheeventofacollision.Wearing
seatbeltshelpsreducethepossibilityofhittingor
beingpushedawayfrom,anyobjectintheinterior
ofthecar.Theairbagsaresupplementaryprotection
toseatbelts.Theyareanaidto,NOTreplacement
of,seatbelts.
•Theairbagstogetherwiththe3-pointseatbelts
provideoptimumprotectionforadults,butnotfor
children.Childrenshouldbeprotectedbychild
restraints.
AirbagDeployment
Tominimisetheriskofaccidentalinjury
frominatingairbags,seatbeltsshouldbe
worncorrectlyatalltimes.Inaddition,both
driverandfrontseatpassengershouldadjust
theirseattoprovidesufcientdistancefrom
thefrontairbags.Ifsideairbags/sidehead
impactprotectionairbagsaretted,both
driverandfrontseatpassengershouldbe
seatedtomaintainsufcientdistancefrom
theupperpartofthebodytothesides
ofthevehicle,thiswillensuremaximum
protectionwhenthesideairbags/sidehead
impactprotectionairbagsaredeployed.
Intheeventofacollision,theairbagcontrolunitmonitors
therateofdecelerationoraccelerationinducedbythe
collision,todeterminewhethertheairbagsshouldbe
deployed.
Operationoftheairbagisnotdependentonthespeed
ofthecar ,butonthetypeandsizeofobjecthit,angle
ofimpactandtherateatwhichthecarchangesspeedas
