How to eliminate engine noise from Micom Transceiver antenna?
    • D
      David PriceAug 20, 2025
If your Micom Transceiver antenna picks up engine noise: * Determine if the noise is engine-related by observing the difference in reception when turning the engine ON and OFF. * Ensure ground leads are properly connected, and all power wires and ground leads are as short as possible. * Make sure the noise blanker (if installed) is enabled. * Consider installing noise reduction Kit TLN8845.

How to fix a blank display on Micom Transceiver?
    • J
      Jessica HillAug 23, 2025
If your Micom Transceiver has a blank display, check the following: * Ensure the DC power cable is properly connected to both the radio and the battery. * Verify that a 7.5A fuse is installed in the fuse holder located on the green wire of the DC power cable.

What to do if Micom Transceiver has weak receive signal?
    • B
      Brian HaynesAug 26, 2025
If your Micom Transceiver display is present but you're experiencing a weak or no receive signal or noise, check these items: * Examine the connection of the antenna to the antenna tuner and the antenna tuner to radio cables for any loose or broken connections. * Ensure the squelch is not in the OFF position. * Confirm the correct programming of the operating channel, including frequency and mode of operation.

What does OVER TMP mean on Micom Transceiver?
    • M
      marianolanAug 28, 2025
If your Micom Transceiver displays 'OVER TMP', check the following: * Ensure there is no obstruction to free airflow around the radio. * Verify that the fan system is working and there are no obstructions to the fan. * Perform the built-in test using the MRC or RSS to obtain more information. If no further information is displayed, the problem is in the HIGH POWER board.

What does PW_LATCH mean on Micom 3f Transceiver?
    • C
      Crystal TorresAug 30, 2025
If your Micom Transceiver displays 'PW_LATCH', perform the built-in test using the MRC or RSS to obtain more information. Check the condition of the antenna and its connections, because this error is displayed when the VSWR exceeds 3.5:1. To check whether the problem is caused by high VSWR, transmit into a dummy load. If the problem persists, there is a problem in the HIGH POWER board.

What does NO CLOCK mean on Micom Transceiver?
    • P
      Paul GomezSep 2, 2025
If your Micom Transceiver displays 'NO CLOCK', check the following: * Ensure that a 30A fuse is installed in the fuse holder located on the red wire of the power cable. * Check for good connection of the power cable to the power supply and to the radio. If connections and cable are OK, then the problem is in the LORD board.

    • J
      Jason BradfordSep 4, 2025
If your Micom Transceiver displays 'CU-LIMIT', check the following: * Ensure that the radio is programmed to TUNER OFF when your antenna system is not equipped with an ATU. * Check for short-circuit or other damage to the antenna feed coax. * Verify that the ATU is in good working condition.

What does NOT PROG mean on Micom 3f?
    • J
      John JacksonSep 7, 2025
If your Micom Transceiver displays 'NOT PROG' (displayed when the radio DC power failed during programming): * The radio is not programmed and the baud rate is 1200 bps. * Program the radio parameters (using the MRC or RSS). This forces the radio to accept the downloaded parameters.

What does BATTERY FAIL ERROR 11 mean on Micom 3f?
    • B
      Brian HamiltonSep 12, 2025
If your Micom Transceiver displays 'BATTERY FAIL ERROR 11', the radio has an internal battery that enables the memory to store the last channel information that was used before the radio was turned off. If this battery becomes weak, it will display this warning. When the battery is dead, all the channel information will be retained, but the radio will always use channel 1 when you turn the radio on.
