OneDrive and Office work together
When you sign in with a Microsoft account, your docs are saved on OneDrive (by default) so that you can access
them from anywhereyour computer, phone, or the web. Saving Office docs on OneDrive also makes it easy to
share and work with other people (If they don't have Office, they can use free Office Web Apps.) For more info,
see OneDrive and Office work together on Windows.com.
A few more things
File compatibility. Office 2013 apps can open files created with previous versions of Office. To check
compatibility between Office 2013 and previous versions of Office, see Check file compatibility with
earlier versions on Office.com.
Touch. Check out the Office Touch Guide on Office.com.
Pen. To find out how to use a capacitive pen (sold separately) in Office apps (called inking), see Use a
pen to draw, write, or highlight text on a Windows tablet on Office.com.
Languages. If you want to work with different languages, see Office 2013 Language Options on
Office.com.
OneNote
OneNote is a digital notebook for all of your notes and information. You can create to-do lists, add pictures, and
format notes with tables, bullets, and colors. When you sign in with a Microsoft account, your notes are saved in
the cloud so that you can access them from your computer, phone, or the web.
You can use either of the following apps:
OneNote 2013 RT. Pre-installed desktop app.
OneNote app. Free app in the Windows Store.
You can add and edit notes using either OneNote app. You can also use OneNote on your phone, so that you
can view and edit your notes on the go. (OneNote apps are available for Windows Phone, Android, and the
iPhone.) To learn more about using OneNote on your Windows Phone, see Use OneNote Mobile on
WindowsPhone.com.
Internet Explorer 11
Surfing the web has never been better. Surface has two versions of Internet Explorer:
A touch-friendly app
A desktop app
This way you can easily surf the web from the Start screen or the desktop.
