Grilling
111
Cooking containers
Use the universal tray with the rack
placed on top of it. The grilling and
roasting insert should be used with
conventional functions. The tray will
collect the meat juices and stop them
from burning so that they can be used
for making gravy and sauces.
The baking tray can distort if used for
grilling.
Always use the universal tray for
grilling.
The grilling and roasting insert is not
suitable for use with MChef
functions.
It must only be used with
conventional cooking functions.
Temperature
Where a range of temperatures is given,
you should generally select the lower
one.
If higher temperatures are used than
those specified, the meat will brown on
the outside, but will not be properly
cooked through.
Pre-heating
Pre-heating is necessary when grilling.
Pre-heat the top heat/grill element for
approx. 5 minutes with the door closed.
Shelf levels
Select the shelf level depending on the
thickness of the food to be grilled.
Thinner cuts: shelf level 3 or 4
Thicker cuts: shelf level 1 or 2
Grilling duration
Thinner cuts of meat/slices of fish
require approx. 6–8minutes per side.
Thicker pieces require more time per
side. It is best to grill food of a similar
thickness at the same time so that
the grilling time does not vary too
much.
Turn the food halfway through grilling.
