FOCUS LOCK
BASIC OPERATION
1. Center your subject in the wide
focus frame.
2. Press the shutter-release button
partway down to lock the focus.
When focus signal appears in the
viewfinder, the focus is locked.
4. Press the shutter-release button all the way down
to take the picture.
The focus-lock function is used when the sub-
ject is off-center and outside the focus frame.
Focus lock may also be used when a special
focusing situation prevents the camera from
focusing on the subject.
Focus can also be locked with the spot AF button.
Focus lock also sets the exposure settings.
When focusing on moving subjects or with the sports subject program,
focus lock cannot be used.
3. Continue to hold the shutter-
release button partway down
while you compose your
picture.
Removing your finger from the shutter-
release button cancels the focus lock.
