The multi-line function
*
A multi-line terminal has several directory numbers*. Each directory number is stored on a
programmable key.
This function is mainly used to program on the same set:
- A standard number that you give to everyone.
- A private number that you only give to some people; this can also be a backup number.
Examples:
For a manager, - an unfiltered private number
- A number filtered by his assistant.
For an assistant, - a private number for her personal calls
- A number for receiving the manager's filtered calls.
Remarque : this function will be programmed by your system operator. Using an expan-
sion module gives an immediate view of the programmed keys, regardless of whether the
terminal is idle or communicating.
When your terminal is set to multi-line, you can assign at will to each of your directory num-
bers the features you wish to use. Each directory number can also be set to multi-key
(managing enquiry calls).
You have a voice mailbox associated with each directory number. Forwarding is pro-
grammed independently and with secret access codes that may be different.
Note that some procedures described in this guide differ when your terminal is set to multi-
line. An additional operation is required when certain features are programmed, for in-
stance:
- Selecting the line to connect in multiple calls
- Selecting the line to connect in the recording of a speed dial key
- Or selecting the line to be forwarded (Forward menu).
In all cases, follow the instructions displayed on screen.
