4. VALVE GUIDES
(1) Measure the clearance between the valve guide and valve
stem. If the clearance exceeds the specified limit, replace
either or both components.

Intake SOHC 12-VALVE 0.020 - 0.050 0.10
SOHC 16-VALVE 0.020 - 0.047 0.10
DOHC 0.020 - 0.047 0.10
Exhaust SOHC 12-VALVE 0.050 - 0.085 0.15
SOHC 16-VALVE 0.030 - 0.062 0.15
DOHC 0.030 - 0.057 0.15
5. VALVE SEATS
(1) Assemble the valve, then measure the valve stem
projection between the e n d of the valve stem and the
spring seating surface. If the measurement exceeds th e
specified limit, replace the valve seat.
