5.1. Storage
5.1.1. Werecommendleavingthecolposcopeinitsprovidedcaseforprotectionandtominimizedust
contaminationwhennotinuse.Alwaysfollowthecleaningprocessoutlinedbelowpriortoreturning
theunittoitscasetoavoidcontamination.
5.2. LensCare
5.2.1. Theopticalunitlensshouldbekeptfreefromloosedebrisordustparticlesthatmayblockthefieldof
view.Intheeventofdirtorsmudgesonthelenssurface,cleanthelenswithasoftclothorlenswipe.
Werecommendusingtheclothprovidedinyourcarekit.Neverusetowels.
5.3. Body/Base
5.3.1. Theopticalunitneedstobecleanedbetweeneachandeveryuseduetothecolposcopeaccumulating
dirtovertime,andthepossibilityofcrosscontamination.
5.4. CleaningInstructions
Cleaningthebaseoftheopticalunitshouldonlybedonewithdisinfectanttowelettes,suchasCaviWipesor
theirequivalent.
5.4.1. Use35towelettes,atminimum,towipetheopticalunitbodyfromthehandle,bothdowntheinternal
sidefacingtheuserandtheexternalsidefacingthepatient,makingyourwaytothetopoftheunit.
5.4.2. Thisshouldbedoneinascrubbingmotion,coveringbothsidesoftheplasticbody.
5.4.3. Besuretocoverallareasandcrevicessothattheentiresurfacebodyoftheunitiswipeddown.
5.4.4. Don’tcleantheunitwhentherubbercoveroverthechargingportisopentoavoiddamagetothe
chargingport.
5.4.5. Continuebywipingthelensaroundtheperimeterofthealuminumtubewithadedicatedoptics
cleaningtool.
5.4.6. Completeyourcleaningbywipingthemobiledevicescreen,toptobottom,ensuringthatallcrevices
havebeencleaned.
5.4.7. Liquidsplashesonthefrontpanelcanoccurwithdeviceusageandtheseshouldbewipedoffas
previouslydescribed.
