use and maintenance Griso R
56
Have a tire changed when worn or
punctured, if the puncture in the tread is
larger than 5 mm.
Have the wheels balanced after each tire
repair.
WARNING
Spare tires should be of the
recommended type and model, see
page 103 (TECHNICAL DATA); using
different tires then the specified ones
negatively affects vehicle handling.
Do not install tube tires on tubeless tire
rims or vice versa.
Make sure that caps are in place on the
valves (2), or the tires may deflate
suddenly.
Tire replacement and repair, and wheel
servicing and balancing are delicate
operations that should be carried out
using adequate tools and are best left to
experienced mechanics.
For this reason, it is advisable to have
these operations carried out by a Moto
Guzzi Authorized Dealer or by a
qualified tire repairer.
If the tires are new, they may still be
covered with a slippery film: drive
carefully for the first few miles. Never
apply non-specific products to the tires.
Old tires, even if not completely worn
down, may become hard and provide
poor grip.
If so, have them replaced.
MINIMUM TREAD DEPTH (3):
front and rear 2 mm ( 3 mm), anyway
not less than required by the regulations in
force in the country where the vehicle is
used.
ENGINE OIL
WARNING
Prolonged or repeated contact with
engine oil may cause severe skin
damage.
Wash your hands carefully after use.
KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN.
DO NOT RELEASE OIL INTO THE
ENVIRONMENT.
Put it in a sealed container and take it to
the filling station where you usually buy
it or else to an oil salvage facility.
If any maintenance operations are
required, it is advisable to use latex
gloves.
CAUTION
If the LED " " and the engine oil
pressure icon " "come on during
regular engine operation, it means that
engine oil pressure in the circuit is low.
If so, check engine oil level, see page 56
(CHECKING AND TOPPING UP ENGINE
OIL LEVEL). If insufficient, immediately
stop the engine and top up. Have the
system checked by your Moto Guzzi
Authorized Dealer.
