INSTALLING THE BATTERY
Carefully read page 89 (BATTERY).
u Make sure that the ignition switch is in
position " ".
u Remove the rider seat, see page 43
(UNLOCKING/LOCKING THE SEAT).
NOTE The battery (1) should be
positioned in its housing with the terminals
facing the vehicle front end.
u Insert the battery (1) in its compartment.
WARNING
Upon reassembly, connect the positive
cable (+) first and then the negative
cable (-).
u Connect the positive (+) cable by
tightening the terminal screw (2).
u Connect the negative (-) cable by
tightening the terminal screw (3).
u Coat the terminals of cables and battery
with neutral grease or Vaseline.
u Install the battery in the correct position,
fully into its seat.
u Tighten the screws (5) to secure the
cover (4).
u Refit the rider seat, see page 43
(UNLOCKING/LOCKING THE SEAT).
CAUTION
Removing the battery resets the
following functions: digital clock, trip
info and lap times. To reset these
functions, see page 33
(MULTIFUNCTION COMPUTER).
CHECKING THE SWITCHES
Carefully read page 71
(MAINTENANCE).
The vehicle is equipped with four
switches:
1) Stop light switch on the rear brake
control lever;
2) Stop light switch on the front brake
control lever;
3) Safety switch on the side stand;
4) Switch on the clutch lever.
