8.12 Lube Oil System, Lube Oil Circuit
8.12.1 Engine oil level – Check
Preconditions
☑ Engine is stopped and starting disabled.
Checking oil level prior to en-
gine start
1. Pull out dipstick from guide tube and wipe it.
2. Insert dipstick into guide tube up to the stop,
pull it out after approx. 10 seconds and
check oil level.
3. Oil level must be between "min." (2) and
"max." (1) marks.
4. Top up with oil up to the "max" (1) mark
(→ Page 167) if required.
5. Insert oil dipstick into guide tube up to the
stop.
Checking engine oil level after engine has stopped
1. 5 minutes after stopping the engine, pull out oil dipstick from guide tube and wipe it.
2. Insert dipstick into guide tube up to the stop, pull it out after approx. 10 seconds and check oil level.
3. Oil level must be between “min.” and "max." marks.
4. Top up to "max." if required (→ Page 167).
5. Insert oil dipstick into guide tube up to the stop.
