ConfiguringDynamicDomainNamingSystem(DDNS)
ThisfeatureallowsyourroutertouseaDDNSservicetoassociateahostedserver'sdomainnamewitha
dynamicallychanginginternetaddress.
ToconfigureyourroutertouseDDNS:
1. FromSetup,selectDDNSConfiguration.
2. IntheConfigurationgroup,checkEnabled.
3. IntheServerfield,typethenameofth
eser
verfromwhichthecurrentlyassignedIPaddressisobtained.
ThischeckIPserverisaservertherouteraccessestocheckitscurrentIPaddress.
4. InthePortfield,typetheserver'sportnumber.Defaultis80.
5. IntheMaxRetriesfield,typethemaximumnumberoftries
thatareallowediftheupdatefails.The
defaultis5.Therangeis0to100.
6. IntheUpdateIntervalfield,typethedaysthatpasswithnoIPAddresschange.Attheendofthis
interval,theexistingIPAddressisupdatedontheserversothattheaddre
s
sdoesnotexpire.Therange
oftheintervalyoucanenterisbetween1and99days.Thedefaultis28days.
7. IfyouwanttoquerytheservertodeterminetheIPaddressbeforetheDDNSupdate,checkUseCheck
IP.TheIPaddressisstillassignedbythewirelessproviderandtheDD
NSisupd
atedbasedonthe
addressreturnedbyCheckIPServer.Ifdisabled,theDDNSupdateusestheIPaddressfromthePPPlink.
ThedefaultisUseCheckIP.
