WARNING: Be sure that the system
unit power is turned off and the system is unplugged
before you begin the installation procedure.
2. Remove the system unit cover (see Chapter 4).
3. If you are installing a board in the inside expansion slot
(next to the power supply) in the desktop system, see
“Inside Expansion Slot in the Desktop” in this chapter.
Otherwise continue to the next step.
4. Remove the screw securing an expansion slot cover and
remove the cover.
Save the screw for installing the board. Keep the slot
cover in a convenient place for possible use.

CAUTION: A slot cover can damage
the system board or any option board if it falls into
the system. Take special care to keep the slot cover
from falling when you remove the screw.
If the slot cover does fall into the unit, be sure to
remove it before you replace the cover.
