Troubleshootinu and Maintenance
The
N-395
requires no routine service or calibration other than
changing the battery at least every
24
months.
If service is necessary, contact qualified service personnel or
your local Mallinckrodt representative.
Periodic
Safety
Cheeks
It is recommended that the following checks be performed every

months.
Inspect the equipment for mechanical and functional
damage.
Inspect the safety relevant labels for legibility.
Pel-%ormance Verification
If the inonitor has been visibly damaged or subjected to
mechanical shock (for example, if dropped), qualified service
personnel should perforin the procedure in the
Performance
VeriJication
section of the service manual.
Cleaning
WARNING: Do not spray, pour, or spill any Liquid on the
N-395,
its
accessories, connectors, switches, or openings in the
chassis.
For
surface-cleaning
and
disinfecting
follow your institution's
procedures or:
The
N-395
may be
s~trface-cleaned
by using a soft cloth
dainpened with either a commercial, nonabrasive cleaner or
a
solution of 70% alcohol in water, and lightly wiping the
surfaces of the monitor.
The
N-395
inay be
disinfected
using a soft cloth saturated
with 10% chlorine bleach in tap water solution.
Before
attempting to clean an SpOz sensor, read the directions for
use enclosed with
the sensor. Each sensor inodel has cleaning
instructions specific to that sensor.
