Advanced Configuration 5-1
Chapter 5
Advanced Configuration
This chapter provides information about using the FirstGear Advanced configuration menus to
configure your Model RT328 ISDN Router. These instructions assume you have already installed
and connected your router as instructed in Chapter
2, “Hardware Installation.”
With the Advanced configuration procedure, you can set specific parameters rather than use the
default preconfigured settings. This procedure requires knowledge of networking in order to set the
proper parameters. Refer to Reference Guide for the Model RT328 ISDN Router for more detailed
information about router configuration.
Because the Advanced procedure allows you to download the information at any time, you can use
the Advanced tabs to fine-tune the router setup after you have performed a Quick configuration.
You can also use the Advanced screens to customize a configuration that has been read from the
router.
Note: Changes made in these configuration screens will not take effect until you
download the new configuration to the router. This can be done by pressing the Send to
Router button or selecting Send to Router from the File menu bar.
