58 Chapter 7 Calibration
e. The output will then be moved to ¼ of the current set point and
allowed to settle. Once settled, enter the actual voltage
measurement from the ammeter display, then select the
Next
soft button and press the right arrow.
f. The calibration procedure is complete.
7.2.7 Remote Operation Laser Voltage Measurement Calibration
a. With the output off, connect a calibrated voltmeter, in parallel
with the shunt to the laser output terminals.
b. Select the channel via the
LAS:CHAN
command. Set the
voltage limit to full scale via the
LAS:LIM:LDV
command, and
the current set point necessary to read approximately 80% of full
scale voltage. Place the unit into constant current mode via the
LAS:MODE:LDI
command.
c. Enter the
LAS:OUTPUT ON
command to turn the laser output
on.
d. Enter the laser voltage calibration mode by issuing the
LAS:CAL:LDV
command.
e. Input the actual (measured) laser voltage (as an <nrf value>) via
the
LAS:LDV <nrf value>
command.
The 5600 will be ready to receive the value when, after a
LAS:CAL:LDV?
query is sent, the response from the 5600 is
"1".
f. Once the actual voltage value is entered via the
LAS:LDV
command, the 5600 will apply a new current equal to
approximately one-fourth (
¼
) the previous set point.
The 5600 will be ready to receive the second voltage value
when, after a
LAS:CAL:LDV?
query is sent, the response from
the 5600 is "1".
g. Input the second actual (measured) voltage as in Step e.
