STEP 3
The installation of AVIO500 must be carried out by
qualied personnel in compliance with current legislation,
standards and regulations, and the directions provided in
this manual.
3.1 – PRELIMINARY CHECKS
BeforeproceedingwiththeinstallationofAVIO500youmust:
• Verifyandensureafterinstallationthatnodoorpartsobstruct
publicroadwaysorpavements.
• Checkthatallthematerialsareinexcellentcondition,suitable
foruseandthattheyconformtothestandardscurrentlyinforce.
• Makesurethatthestructureofthegateissuitableforautoma-
tion.
• Makesurethattheforceanddimensionsofthedoorfallwithin
thespeciedoperatinglimitsprovidedinchapter2.2(“Operating
limits”).
• Checkthatthestaticfriction(thatis,theforcerequiredtostart
themovementofthedoor)islessthanhalfthe“maximumtorque”,
andthatthedynamicfriction(thatis,theforcerequiredtokeepthe
doorinmovement)islessthanhalfthe“nominaltorque”.Com-
paretheresultingvalueswiththosespeciedinstep15(“Techni-
calspecications”).Themanufacturerrecommendsa50%mar-
ginontheforce,asunfavourableclimaticconditionsmaycause
anincreaseinthefriction.

Theguidethatissuppliedmustbeassembledasfollows:
01. Referring to g. 4,removethebelttensionerdevice(4a);in-
sertoneendofthebeltintothepulley(4b);reintroducethebelt
tensionerdeviceintotheguide(4c).
02. Passthesameendofthebeltthroughthehead[A],asing.
5.NB-Makesurethatthebeltiscorrectlypositioned:itmustbe
withtheteethfacinginwards,straightandwithouttwists.
03. Turnthelowersectionofthecarriagesothatthegroovescor-
respondwiththetwoendsofthebelt,asing. 6.
04. Placebothends of thebeltintoall theshapedslotsof the
lowercarriage[B].Securetheendsofthebeltwiththe2screws
(V4.2x9.5)and2brackets,asing. 7.
05. Fixthebeltguide[C]totheuppercarriage[D]withtheV6x18
screwandrelatedM6nut,asing. 8.

• Makesurethatthemechanicalstopsaresturdyenough,and
thatthereisnodangerofthedoorderailing.
• Makesurethatthedooriswellbalanced:itmustnotmoveby
itselfwhenleftstationaryinanyposition.
• Makesurethatthemountingpositionsofthevariousdevices
(photocells, keys, etc.) are protected fromimpact and that the
mountingsurfacesaresufcientlysturdy.
• Makesurethattheminimumandmaximumclearancesspeci-
eding. 2 and 3areobserved.
• Checkandensurethatthemanualreleaseisttedatamaxi-
mumheightof1.8m.
• Componentsmustneverbeimmersedinwaterorotherliquids.
• Keep all AVIO500 components away from heat sourcesand
open ames; these could damage the components and cause
malfunctions,reordangeroussituations.
• Ifthedoorincludesanaccessdoor,makesurethatitdoesnot
obstructnormaltravel.Fitasuitableinterlocksystemifnecessary.
• OnlyinserttheAVIO500plugintosocketsequippedwithasafe-
tygroundingsystem.
• The socket must be protected by suitable magneto-thermal
anddifferentialswitches.
06. Inserttheuppercarriage[D]intothelowercarriage[B]and
placetheentirecarriageassemblyinsidetheguide,asing. 9.
07. Hammerthethreepiecesoftheguideintoplaceinsidethe
connectionbrackets[E],asing. 10 and 11.Important–the
guidesmustslideintothebracketsuntiltheyclickintoposition.
08. Carefullypositionthebeltintotheguide,makingsurethatit
isnottwisted.
09. Pushthehead[A]intothefreeendoftheguideusingsigni-
cantforce,asing. 12.
10. Finally,tensionthebeltwiththeadjustmentscrew[F]ofthe
belttensionerdevice,asing. 13.
CAUTION! the gearmotor could break if the belt is TOO
taut, and it could cause unpleasant noise if it is TOO slack.
