When shimming is complete, connecting rods and pin bearings should be positioned near
center
of
crosshead opening (Figure 8-42).
If
any pin bearing rubs on the inside
of
any
crosshead, transfer shims from one side
of
the pump to the other side to shift the crankshaft.
