Inserting punctuation marks
To add a punctuation mark or a special
character, press to move the
cursor of the character bar to the list of
special characters. Roll with
Navi
Roller
to the desired character and
press
Navi Roller
to select the
highlighted character. Press for
space.
Using Pinyin input method
Make sure you have selected Simplified
Chinese under the Language menu
(4-3-1). Key in letters by pressing the
corresponding number key until the
desired letter is displayed. Then roll
with
Navi Roller
to the desired
character in the character bar and press
Navi Roller
to select it.
Note:
The Pinyin method
automatically knows the next
legal pinyin element and one
press will be enough. For
example, if we were to input
“Pin” press “7” once and “4” once
to get “i”. The characters “g” and
“h” are not allowed. Press “6”
once only.
Example of Pinyin input
To write ‘Pin’, press once,
once and once.
If needed, roll with Navi Roller to the
desired character and press
Navi Roller
to select the highlighted character.
To write ‘Yin’, press three times,
once and once.
If needed, roll with
Navi Roller
to the
desired character and press
Navi Roller
to select the highlighted character.
Using Zhuyin (BoPoMoFo) input
method
Make sure you have selected
Traditional Chinese under the
Language menu (4-3-1). Key in
(BopoMoFo) symbols by pressing the
corresponding number key once or
more. Then roll with
Navi Roller
to the
desired symbol in the characted bar and
press
Navi Roller
to select the
highlighted symbol.
Tone marks are located under the
key. Press once for the first tone
mark, twice for the second and so on.
