4-2 Making a call
2. Call the selected contact using the telephone
directory:
When you have no active voice calls, the Tel-
ephone main view shows the telephone direc-
tory (figure 4-1). Contact cards that do not
contain any phone numbers appear dimmed
in the telephone directory and cannot be se-
lected. (Phone numbers can be added to the
contact cards in the Contacts application.)
•Choose a contact in the telephone directory,
either by scrolling or by searching (type text
in the search field), and press
Call
.
• If the contact has more than one phone
number, a pop-up box opens, listing all phone
numbers. Choose a number from the list and
press
Call
.

•Press the
Recent calls
command.
• Select one of the recent calls lists (dialled,
received or missed calls) and press
Open
.

Call
.
Once you have made the call, you can now close
the cover and continue the call in the phone in-
terface, unless you want to use the handsfree op-
eration.Answering a call
If some application other than Telephone is ac-
tive, a note about an incoming call is shown on
the screen. If you are called by a person who has
a contact card (as in the figure 4-2), the caller is
identified by his/her name (if supported by the
network). The note can be dismissed by pressing
any key.
To answer the call:
Close the device cover and answer the call via
the phone interface (by pressing ).
Or, alternatively,
Press the Tel. application button to start the
Telephone application (if not already active)
and press
Answer
.
Note that you cannot have two active calls at the
same time: the previous active call is automati-
cally put on hold when you answer a waiting call
(the network service “Call waiting” must be acti-
vated).
If you do not want to take the voice call, press
End call
. The caller will hear the alerting tone
change to a “line busy” tone.
