CAUTION
● If using the motor with the light on for more than 1 minute continuously, the motor will become hot (the maximum
surface temperature might reach 50 ˚C depending on the situation in which the system is used�) In such cases,
stop using the motor until the light part cools down�
● Activation of the torque limiter: During use, when the drilling load reaches the preset torque upper limit, the
integrated torque limiter automatically activates to prevent over torque� When the torque limiter activates, the
motor stops after beeping and “SAFE” appears on the display� To reactivate the motor, release the speed control
pedal�
● When the motor has continued operating for 15 minutes or the temperature inside the motor and the control unit
rises to a certain level, “SAFE” appears on the display� To reactivate the motor, release the speed control pedal�
NOTICE
● The functions of the buttons of the foot control noted above are factory default settings� If settings are changed
as described in “8 – 1 Setting key”, the functions will differ from those above�
5 – 3 Protection circuit
A protection circuit automatically functions to protect the motor and the control unit if the motor is ever overloaded�
Power supply to the motor will automatically be terminated and an error code will be displayed on the control unit�
Resetting the protection circuit
To reset the protection circuit, release the speed control pedal and then depress it again�
5 – 4 Sleep mode
Sleep mode is a function that saves the foot control battery by shifting to sleep mode after a certain period of time
when the control unit is powered on and the foot control is not operated� See “8 – 1 Setting key” and switch FC MODE of
FC SET to FC to enable sleep mode�
When the foot control enters sleep mode, “SLEEP” is displayed on the screen (LCD display)� To release sleep mode,
keep pressing the speed control pedal of the foot control until it returns to the normal screen� When the control unit is
powered on, “PUSH FC” is displayed on the screen and also keep pressing the speed control pedal of the foot control�
The time to enter sleep mode is OFF, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, and 60
minutes� See “8 – 1 Setting key” and select the time in SLEEP of FC SET�
