7  Maintenance
7 – 1  Replace the O-ring
If the O-ring has become worn or damaged, the handpiece may become difficult to connect or if the handpiece is 
rattling, replace the O-ring�
Remove the O-ring with a pointed tool, and then mount the new O-ring into the groove�
Also replace the O-ring of the protection plug as well�
7 – 2  Periodical maintenance checks
Every 3 months perform periodical maintenance checks, referring to the check sheet below� If any abnormalities are 
found, contact an authorized NSK dealer�
Points to Check Details
Control unit operation
There should be no abnormal mechanical sound�
LCD display is displayed appropriately�
The control panel does not operate abnormally�
Foot control operation
Check the battery level displayed on the control unit LCD display� If battery level is 
low, replace the batteries�
Fully depress the speed control pedal and confirm that the motor is rotating at the 
set speed�
Depress each button and make sure that function corresponding to each button 
can be confirmed� If the foot control does not function properly, perform calibration� 
(See “7 – 3 Foot control calibration”)
Remove the foot control battery cover and make sure its O-ring is not damaged or 
worn� If damage or wear is seen, contact an authorized NSK dealer for 
replacement�
Foot control hanger Make sure the foot control hanger does not easily come off the foot control�
Coolant solution flow Coolant solution flows appropriately with no leakage
Motor with motor cord
Operate for 1 minute and make sure there is no abnormal heating, sound, or 
vibration�
Make sure the motor LED illuminates normally�
Handpiece Inspect the handpiece according to its manual�

Periodical safety testing shall be performed every two years following IEC 62353 (EN 62353), in accordance with test 
procedure OM-DE0938EN� As periodical safety testing is limited exclusively to professional dental installers who have 
been trained and qualified under the control of NSK, contact your authorized NSK dealer�
