Administering Olympus DSS
Player Pro License IDs
Neither Nuance nor Olympus track software licenses that are shipped to
customers. Therefore, Nuance strongly recommends you take the following
precautions regarding license management.
Safely store the individual Product License ID certificates printed on blue
or green colored paper with a 20-digit barcode label.
Record and maintain the license IDs that are installed on each individual
computer.
Olympus monitors usage of their installed software to protect against
copyright infringement by transmitting license ID beacons on the network.
If a license ID is in use on a computer and another computer attempts to
start the Olympus programs using the same license ID, the programs can
fail to start, presenting a message about licenses being exceeded or
unavailable.
Methods to view or change a license ID for the Olympus software on a
specific computer include:
View the ID by starting the DSS Player Pro application and click Help/
About Dictation Module. The Serial ID contains the 20-digit license
ID.
Edit the registry key value to change a license ID.
Note: Editing the registry should be performed only by qualified
personnel. The Olympus license ID is stored at:
C:\HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Olympus\DSSPlayerPr
o\Dictation Module\User Information\SerialNumber.
The EXVoice Client Viewer application can be used to assist in identifying the
users and their computer names that are logged into the Enterprise Express
VoiceSystem as an Olympus user.
