2.2 How to Use the Terminals
2-17
Preparations
● Communication
(terminals)
• To communicate with a host system, connect between terminals F1
and F2 on the E5AR, or C1 and C2 on the E5ER.
• The connection type is 1:1 or 1:N. In a 1:N installation, up to 32
units, including the host computer, can be connected.
• The maximum total cable length is 500 m.
• Use a shielded twisted pair cable (AWG28 or higher).
<Cable reference diagram>
• Use a resistance of 100 to 125
Ω (1/2 W) in the terminators. Install
terminators at both ends of the transmission path, including the host
computer.
• To connect to an RS232C port on a computer, use a 232C-485
convertor.
