Reserve (6)
The 6-byte Reserve command (16h) allows the initiator to perform unit reservations.
Unit reservations are reservations of the library as a whole.
Other Commands and Reservations
Unit reservations are released or canceled by:
A “Release” command from the same initiator
A Task Management reset:
Target Reset
LUN Reset
An interface reset
A power-on reset of the library
If the library is reserved as a unit, the library processes only the following commands
from another initiator:
Prevent/Allow Medium Removal with Prevent bits set to 0
Inquiry
Log Sense
Release (the reservation is not released)
Request Sense
Report LUNs
Report Target Port Groups
All other commands result in a Reservation Conflict status (18h).
