Unit Serial Number Page Definitions:
Peripheral Qualifier
The library returns a value of:
• 000b = Indicating the specified peripheral device type is currently
connected to this logical unit.
• 011b = If the command is sent to an unsupported logical unit.
(b = binary notation)
Peripheral Device Type
The library returns a value of:
• 8h = Indicates that the library is a medium changer device.
• 1Fh = If the command is sent to an unsupported logical unit.
Page Code
This field is set to:
80h = Identifying the page as the unit serial number page.
Additional Page Length
This field is set to:
12h = The number of bytes in the product serial number.
Unit Serial Number
This field contains a unique 18 character ASCII identifier for the library.
For example: 464970G+1221XX0005
Where: XX indicates the library partition number, when the library is
partitioned.
P1: Partition 1
P2: Partition 2
P3: Partition 3
P4: Partition 4
P5: Partition 5
P6: Partition 6
P7: Partition 7
P8: Partition 8
The serial number is not modified, when the library is non-partitioned.
