4.4.5 Gift Balance Inquiry
Note
Balance Inquiry transaction is used for inquiring balance of Gift cards.
Example: X is member of Y’s shop. One day X wants view the balance
on his gift card account. X asks Y to do Gift Balance inquiry. Y takes the
card and does Gift Balance on the S300 POS terminal and ECR. X gets
the receipts and knows the balance on his card.

Be sure the terminal is at the Idle Prompt
2.
ECR sends message about the EDC Type and Transaction Type to POS.
The EDC Type is “GIFT” and the Transaction Type is “BALANCE”. If ECR
(Simulator) sends Transaction Type (00), it means the order of Transaction
Type is not available, press on the screen to select “BALANCE” on S300.
Notice: If needed, message including Transaction Type, Amount, Tip,
Account, Clerk/Server ID can be input through ECR.

Swipe the Card, or manually enter the Account Number.

If the security for Card
Manually Entry is on, the
terminal will prompt for
the manager password.
When prompted, enter
the password and then
press [ENTER].
