4.4.6 Gift Void
Note
To do a Gift Void is to nullify an approved Gift transaction, including Gift
Sale, Gift Return, Gift Add Value and Gift Issue.
Example: X is member of Y’s shop. X has made a Gift Sale, or a Gift
Return, or a Gift Add Value or a Gift Issue transaction, but he wants to
void it. So Y does a Gift Void Transaction for X on the S300 POS
terminal.

Be sure the terminal is at the Idle Prompt
ECR sends message about the EDC Type and Transaction Type to POS.
The EDC Type is “GIFT” and the Transaction Type is “VOID”. If ECR
(Simulator) sends Transaction Type (00), it means the order of Transaction
Type is not available, press on the screen to select “VOID” on S300.
Notice: If needed, message including Transaction Type, Amount, Tip,
Account, Clerk/Server ID can be input through ECR.
Swipe the Card, or manually enter the Account Number.
If the security for Card
Manually Entry is on, the
terminal will prompt for
the manager password.
When prompted, enter
the password and then
press [ENTER].
