Belts for multiple groove pulleys must be replaced as
matched sets. If only one belt is replaced, the belt will
carry more load than the belts that are not replaced.
The older belts are stretched. The additional load on
the new belt could cause the belt to break.
Inspect the exhaust system for leaks or damage. If
the exhaust system is equipped with a drain tap,
drain any residual liquid into a suitable container.
Dispose of the waste liquid in accordance with local
regulations and mandates. Refer to the OEM
information for any procedures that are required to
drain the exhaust system.

Water Pump - Inspect
A failed water pump may cause severe engine
overheating problems that could result in the
following conditions:
• Cracks in the cylinder head
• A piston seizure
• Other potential damage to the engine
Note: The water pump seal is lubricated by the
coolant in the cooling system. A normal condition is
that a small amount of leakage to occur as the engine
cools down and parts contract.
Visually inspect the water pumps for leaks. The water
pumps are not serviceable items. Replace a leaking
water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly for
more information.
