Slow Battery Charging
NOTE
Follow the instructions that come with
your battery charger.
It is not necessary to remove the
battery from the compartment.
WARNING!
Charger cables must be connected
positive to positive (+ to +) and nega
-
tive to negative (- to -). If connected
improperly, batteries could explode.
Failure to comply may result in death,
personal injury, equipment or property
damage.

Always make sure the battery charger
is OFF before connecting or discon
-
necting the cable clamps. To reduce
the danger of explosions and result
-
ing death or personal injury, do not
connect or disconnect charger cables
while the charger is operating.
1. Disconnect the battery cables.
WARNING!
2. Connect charger cables.
3. Start charging
the battery at a rate
not over 6 amperes. Normally, a
battery should be charged at no
more than 10 percent of its rated
capacity.
4. After charging,
turn OFF charger
and disconnect charger cables.

Precautions
Take the following precautions to
avoid burning out alternator diodes:
Do not start the engine
with alternator disconnected
(connections removed) from the
circuit.
Before welding, disconnect all
electronic connections to the
vehicle batteries.
Remove battery power cable and
insulate it from the vehicle.
Do not run the engine with the
batteries disconnected.
Do not disconnect the battery
cables or alternator connection
cables with the engine running.
Never turn the ignition switch from
the ON position to the START
position with the engine running.
