Qx Network & Automation
The Qx can be controlled remotely in a number of ways including via VNC, and via REST API which can be
used for automated testing. The IP address of the Qx can be dynamically assigned on a DHCP enabled
network, or a static IP address can be set.
Right-clicking in the window reveals a submenu, from where the IP addressing mode, network/subnet mask
of the Qx, and DNS Server details can be set, by keyboard or on-screen Keypad.
l IP addressing mode > [Dynamic, Static]
For Static IP addressing:
l Ethernet IP addr and mask > [set IP address of Qx as required]
Mask selection is via a drop-down menu. CIDR notation is used; with a default value of /24:
l Ethernet IP addr and mask > [set mask in drop-down, 30 to 8]
Setting Gateway:
l Gateway IP Addr > [set IP address of Gateway as required]
For a DNS Server:
l DNS Server IP Addr > [set DNS Server IP address as required]
Static IP addressing mode settings are saved by selecting:
l Apply Static IP Parameters
From the ‘Qx Network & Automation’ submenu, VNC can also be enabled:
l VNC Server > [Disabled, Enabled]
The VNC Server setting will shows the number of current VNC connections to the Qx. Once a connection is
made, this number will be updated. For more details on VNC setup, see ‘Remote Connection’ section of this
manual.
A REST API remote connection can be established by enabling ‘REST API’ in the submenu:
l REST API > [Disabled, Enabled]
