Analysis
Analyzer - Dataview
This instrument displays the raw data present in the signal, be it - 1.5G HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI, 12G-SDI or
2022-6. The data can be observed in hexadecimal, decimal, or binary formats, and each data word has a
sample & line co-ordinate. The instrument displays the entire video frame complete with active video, TRS
words, and blanking information. Changing the window size changes the amount of data displayed. For
6G-SDI and 12G-SDI video standards, pre-imposed sync bit correction is provided.
Data is presented with a color coding for both text and background:
l Foreground color indicates video sample type: Y (white), Cb (blue), Cr (red)
l Background color indicates data type: TRS words (blue), Blanking (black), Active picture (green)
The user can quickly navigate the dataview window using
sample and line selection in the 'Cursor' tool or using the
'Navigate' keypad.
Both tools are dynamically linked to an enabled 'Picture Cursor'
in the Waveform and Picture instruments.
The Cursor tool provides transport line and sample sliders to
move around the dataview, at the same time as giving the
corresponding Active Picture line and pixel values.
The 'Navigate' keypad (shown, right) allows the user to enter
the co-ordinates they want, and has buttons for quick
navigation to key locations: first and last samples or lines, end
of active video (EAV) and start of active video (SAV) TRS
words, active picture (AP) furthest - left, right, top, and bottom
positions.
The following right-click submenu options are presented:
l Cursor > Source > Line > [1 to Total no. of Lines for current standard]
l Cursor > Source > Sample > [1 to Total no. of Lines for current standard]
